- This image is a perfect representation of what the entire story of "The Bluest Eye" by Toni Morrison is built upon, fake expectations of a physical trait that could solve all inequality. The white mask with blue eyes was what the girl named "Pecola Breedlove" wanted to have. She believes that having such a trait would be equal to her having the beauty and social acceptance that she had always dreamed of having. However, in reality, that was far from the truth because physically she could not and will never be able to obtain such a trait.
